  Munro Nature Preserve

West of Geneva in Adams County. From Fort Wayne (I-469 exit 11) travel south on US 27 through Decatur and Berne to Geneva. Turn right (west) onto SR 116 (Line Street), then left (south) onto 400W and look for the ACRES parking lot on your left. Driving distance from I-69 to the preserve is 33-½ miles.

Esther Cooper and Agnes Munro gifted these 25.59 acres in 1994.  There is a .5 mile loop trail.

Land once owned by Gene Stratton Porter, the preserve sits at the northern-most edge of the historic Limberlost Swamp.  This 27,000 acre swamp was drained in the early 1900's and a portion of it is today being restored by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Museums and Historic Sites, Friends of the Limberlost and ACRES, Inc.  Also located at the preserve is the Brushwood School House, written about in Gene Stratton Porter's "Girl of the Limberlost."
