County Parks welcomes Faire Wynds Entertainers for an afternoon of
tradition. A Victorian Christmas will be hosted at
Maple Wood Nature
Center Thursday, December 7, 1:00 pm. This is a visit
to the origins of many things we do today to celebrate Christmas.
There will be stories of popular carols, as they are played on the
glass harmonica. Even Santa Claus will be introduced in the many
forms he has taken throughout the last 150 years. There will also be
a recitation of "A Visit from St. Nicholas" also known as The Night
Before Christmas.

announces its Annual Dinner and Photofest, scheduled for
Tuesday, December 12 at 6 p.m. in the
Science Building at Manchester College, North Manchester.
Bring your recent, nature-related photos, slides
(35 mm or digital), or artwork to share with the group. The cost is

Nov 26 post: ACRES' next event will be our
annual Christmas Sing-a-long at the Helen Swenson studio in the Wing
Haven Nature Preserve, to be held next Sunday, December 3.
Nov 23 post: All five nominees for the Board of Directors
election, Sam Boggs, Jeff Britton, Chris Dunn, Steven Hammer and
Gary Tieben, have been voted to part of the ACRES Board of
Directors. Four will be renewing their positions on the board.
Chris Dunn will be replacing Bob Bryan.
